STM decided to invest its resources to embrace sustainability goals which includes energy consumption reduction.

The decision came from an analysis of energy consumption that STM has to face because of its production operations. This analysis showed that the installation of its own energy source would allow a consumption reduction of over 60%.

In 2010 was therefore completed the installation of 7.224 photovoltaic panels for an installed power of 1.667 kW, and a production of about 2.200.000 kWh per year.
